Support the library and join the fun as local spelling teams compete for the Fuzzy Bee trophy at this fall’s library fundraiser: Spell Check Adult Spelling Bee. 

The competition begins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at the library. 

Enter the team competition or come to cheer on your favorites.  Enjoy the food and drink.  Bid on great prizes at the silent auction.  As a bonus, attending makes you eligible to buy discounted Hamiltons for Hamilton raffle tickets.  Featuring emcees Amy Eagle and Nicholas Quirke along with brilliant local spellers, this will be the event of the season!

Register a 4-Person Team - $200 in advance.
Join the Party (no spelling required) - $5 at the door.
This is an adults-only event.

If spelling isn’t your thing, Hamiltons for Hamilton raffle tickets can be purchased at the library from September 1-30 for $75.00 each.

October Friends Coffee House

Sunday , October 2, at 2:00 p.m.

Chicago historian and award-winning author Richard Lindberg will present a slide program entitled “Devil in the White City and Beyond,” in which he recounts true life stories including that of notorious Chicago killer H. H. Holmes, Lizzie Borden, and Amy Archer Gilligan, the inspiration for the Hollywood movie “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Free of charge.

Relaxed Coloring for Adults

October 5, November 3  6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

The adult coloring craze is sweeping the nation!  Join other adults (no children please) for an evening of relaxing coloring and music.  Drop in anytime between 6:30 and 8:30 to experience the mind-calming powers of coloring.

Saturday, October 8, 1-2 p.m.--Dangerous Folk performing Blowing in the Wind: 
"Blowing in the Wind" is a sing-along concert of those stirring songs that we all remember from Peter, Paul, and Mary, The Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Phil Ochs, Woody Guthrie and more.

Games After Dark

Adults Only Game Night!  We will provide games such as Gloom, Super Flight and more. We invite participants to bring games that they're passionate about, too.

Leslie Goddard, award-winning actress and history scholar, will portray one of the most fascinating and influential public figures of the twentieth century, inspired by the book The Autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt.

Dollar Store Craft: Autumn Mason Jar Luminaries

Games After Dark-- Weekend Edition
