Lively conversations about books, movies, and writing--some in the daytime, some in the evening, on various days of the week.
Homewood Writers Group -- On the Third Saturday of every month, writers are invited to join Kristin, Carolyn, or Russ at 1:00 p.m. to discuss writing and publishing. Bring along your own work to share with the group. All levels of experience are encouraged to attend.
Russ is facilitating the Movie Discussion Group. Film fans don't watch movies together, but meet to talk about all kinds of movies--new, old, classics, and some you may have overlooked. Join Russ on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
The YA for Adults Group, with Carolyn as facilitator, meets at 7:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month starting in October.
The First Tuesday Group, with Carolyn as facilitator, meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.
The First Thursday Group, with Phyllis as facilitator, meets at 11:00 a.m. the first Thursday of every other month (February, April, June, August, October, and December).
The First Friday Group meets every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November) at 11:00 a.m. Cindy is the facilitator for this group. Members are encouraged to make reading suggestions for the group's discussions.
The Third Thursday Group, with Lisa as facilitator, meets at 7:00 p.m. the third Thursday of each month.
Science Fiction & Fantasy Group, with Kim as facilitator, meets at 7:00 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month.
The Mystery/Suspense Book Discussion, with Kristin as facilitator, meets at 7:15 p.m. on the second Thursday evening of each month.
The Chick Lit Group, with Lisa as facilitator, meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. This group is an open book discussion and does not require preregistration. While most meetings begin at the library, sometimes the group moves to area coffee shops and restaurants.
On the first Thursday of each month from October through April, the Parent/Child Book Discussion Group, facilitated by Miss Dee, meets at 7:00 p.m. Children from 3rd through 6th grade may register with at least one of their parents for this lively, interactive group. This session we are exploring the Blue Stem Award winners and nominees. Limit of 8 families.
The Parent/Teen Book Discussion Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from October through April. For 6th through 9th grade students accompanied by at least one parent, this group meets at 7:00 p.m. with Mary as facilitator. Limit of 8 families.
