imdb.com This all-purpose site will help you find who was in a movie or TV show, the exact title of a movie or TV show, what show a particular character was in, what year a movie debuted, and lots more interesting information.

rottentomatoes.com This site provides some information that's similar to imdb.com, but it also has easily browseable lists of what's coming out soon, what's new to DVD, and what's on top at the box office, for example.

The Primetime Emmy Awards

Hollywood's small screen stars are honored every year at the Primetime Emmy Awards, given by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This year's ceremony marked the 63rd time the awards were given, and was hosted by first-time host Jane Lynch.

Have you wondered what the Emmy statuette is holding? It's an atom, representing the science portion of the academy. She also has wings, identifying her as a muse and representing the arts. The statuette itself was designed by Louis McManus, who modeled the golden woman after his wife. [Source: History of Emmy Statuette]
