The library is having a busy spring as local students use the library for study and research. Library staff are busy preparing for the upcoming summer reading club. Summer activities are being planned for children and adults. More information will be posted here soon. Also watch for the library’s newsletter, Homewood Highlights, to be delivered to your home in late May.



NextReads for Youth

This free service from the Homewood Public Library now has four online newsletters for youth. View them online or sign up for email newsletters about your favorite books and authors.



New Next Reads for Kids



Picture Books

Books on this newsletter are suitable for ages 0 to 8. Each book's annotaton should help parents determine whether a book is right for their child.

Kids' Books

This newsletter is written for kids between ages 9 to 11. Kids' books will include mostly fiction, but also some exceptional nonfiction.

Tween Reads NEW! Comes out May 14th.

Tween reads is the newest newsletter, written for readers between the ages of 11 to 14. This newsletter will feature mostly fiction, but also some exceptional nonfiction.

Teen Scene (formerly called Young Adult Books)

Teen Scene features fiction and nonfiction, old and new, with content suitable for young adults of high school age and up. Adult-level books that are recommended for young adults will appear on Teen Scene (not Tween Reads), and they are included sparingly.
