Outreach
The Homewood Public Library loves reaching out to our community's daycare centers!
Outreach storyhour has been created exclusively for the daycares in the Homewood and East Hazel Crest area. Each session ranges from 30 to 45 minutes and includes stories, songs, fingerplays, sometimes games or a movie. Our main objective is to promote children’s literature so that teachers and children will be encouraged to visit the library.

Our local daycare centers participated in their own summer reading program, signing up 377 children and reading 798 books. Winners of the reading contest were Alpha Campus with 157 books read, Salem Lutheran with 90 books read, Lost of Love Plus with 87 books read, and The Learning Tree with 30 books.
