B3--Banned Book Bingo

September 26 at 3:30 p.m.

Come join you friends during Banned Books Week and make your own B3 card. Refreshments and prizes provided. For grades 7-12. Registration is preferred but not required.

Movie Field Trip

October 1, 10 a.m. at Marcus Chicago Heights Theater

Enjoy a private viewing of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Registration is required. Transportation to and from the theater and concession purchases are your responsibility. More information available in the FORT.

Teen F.O.R.T. at HPL

Fort logoThanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Homewood Library, a new space on the second floor has been created for the teens of the community.  It's called The F.O.R.T.--Friends of Remarkable Teens--a dedicated walled area for teen in grades 7 thru 12 to read, study, talk and learn.

Resources include a teen-oriented collection as well as computers and iPads, music listening station, a DIY project table and gaming area.

2016 Teen's Top Ten Book Nominees

The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year!

Readers ages twelve to eighteen will vote online between August 15 and Teen Read Week™ (October 9-15, 2016).
