With your library card you can access a variety of museum discounts. The tabs below offer information about different museum discount programs available to patrons free of charge.

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that provides discounts at museums, visual and performing arts centers, park districts, and more around the state.

Visit the Explore More Illinois website to gain access to the list of available discounts. You will need your library card # and PIN # to sign in. 

Check out a Museum Adventure Pass with your library card and get free admission or a special discount, depending on location, at participating Chicago area museums.

Visit the library to check out a pass. Passes cannot be reserved or checked out online or on the phone. Pass availability may vary as passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Museum Adventure Pass Rules

  • One Museum Adventure Pass may be checked out per person, per loan period.
  • The loan period is SEVEN DAYS, and will expire after the date printed on the pass.
  • Passes are for one-time use and are not transferable.
  • Your name will be printed on the pass, and you may be asked to show identification (driver’s license and library card) at the museum.
  • The museum will collect the pass when you visit.

Admission offers vary per museum. 

The Museums For All program gives free or reduced admission to a HUGE variety of museums across the country to anyone receiving SNAP benefits.

Check out IPO is a community partnership program between the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and area libraries.  Homewood Library card-holders may enter a drawing to receive two tickets to an IPO performance held at Trinity Christian College.  Concerts and drawings are held monthly.  See a librarian to enter.
